Installation of printer p61

For the installation of the printer driver for printer p61 you can use the same driver as for printer p7, you just have to choose a different model for a successful installation.

To start installation of p61 you have to go to "Control Panel", select "Printers and Faxes" and click "Add Printer". This leads you to thewindow shown in the picture below:

Even though the printer is connected via the network you have to choose "Local printer attached to this computer" and uncheck the box underneath (Plug and Play)

For the printer port you select "Create a new port" and the type of port should be a "HP Standard TCP/IP Port".

For the printer name or IP address you enter "p61.phys.unsw.edu.au".

After this you have to install the printer software. You select on the left-hand side "Manufacturer": HP and on the right-hand side you select the "Printers": HP LaserJet 4000 Series PS.

To name your printer I suggest you call it "p61" and you can set it to be your default printer so that you not accidentally start printing a lot of papers or theses...

After you are done with the installation you just have to check the paper settings for the printer p61, make sure it is set to A4 otherwise the printer will not start to print because it will wait for you to put Letter-format paper in.
